I have just started the white paper for Visibility Mobile - I am playing with names for the paper and one of them is Mobile SEO Success.
I think it is short sweet and says simply what we aim to do. So, I got quite excited about an email I received from JumpTap today. Keywords are vital for Mobile. I am going to look in depth into keywords in the white paper and I was just thinking how there isn't a mobile keyword discovery tool.
Literally five minutes later this email from JumpTap arrives saying they are about to unveil one.
I am looking forward to seeing and testing this as mobile keywords are bound to be different than traditional ones. Also, I am sure there are a lot more spelling mistakes in the mobile environment and I wonder if the keywords will be shorter or spelled incorrectly?
I am sure its Google that keeps going on about 500 ways to spell Britney Spears - there are bound to be some similar clangers in mobile.
There is already a keyword discovery tool from Jumptap buried within the ATT developer website http://developer.att.com/developer/
I guess they must be rolling it out from their own site.

Hi Bena,
Actually, there's is a keyword tool already, and it's from JumpTap. But it's AT&T centric. It's located inside AT&T's portal for developpers
http://developer.att.com/developer/index.jsp?page=goToMarketSection&id=1900069&WT.svl=1900069
It provides search volume and also keyword suggestions.
But what we're all waiting for is something similar to Google Trends, Insight, and their Adwords Keyword Tool for mobile.
Regarding keywords, I would say that it depends of your market. For mobile content, keywords typed from a desktop aren't than different from the ones typed from a mobile device.
But there are indeed far more typos in mobile keywords, that's why keyword suggestion is important in mobile search.

Hi Bena,
A bit confused by this, as JumpTap has had a mobile keyword tool for a while. It's nearly impossible to find, as I explain in this post:
http://www.brysonmeunier.com/how-to-find-the-jumptap-mobile-keyword-tool
Nonetheless, it's available. Are we talking about an update of the data, as it still shows data for September 07, I believe.
Best,
Bryson
p.s. congrats on your new mobile SEO company! Looking forward to great things.
